I think that I saw the end of this it was someone posting and lamenting the demise of a drive to reclaim the name carer.
I have seen the misuse of carer all over; I am sure you have. ‘Carer dies!’ But (Mary; Bill; Fran) worked in care homes so they where not a “carer” .
“A life time devoted to care!” But again this care was in paid nursing.
Think about this::::---- Someone posts in P R T C saying that carers are well thought of; yet in the same section about the same time there was :----

Carers are on benefit?
The loose use of carer means that nurses and the like are included in that so perception is clouded as to how “carers” (us; we;) are seen; should we reclaim the title?
